The coven places a focus on mentorship, allowing more experienced members to guide beginners. Core Beliefs and Practices:   Diverse Pantheon: The coven encourages members to honor deities, spirits, and energies from any pantheon or spiritual tradition they are drawn to.   Personal Autonomy: Each practitioner has the freedom to explore and define their path within the coven, without rigid doctrine or limitations.   Community Rituals and Sabbats: Regular gatherings to celebrate seasonal changes, full moons, and other significant dates.   Spellwork and Rituals: Both group and individual spellwork are practiced, with a focus on shared wisdom and collaboration.   Santa Muerte Devotion: A special space for those devoted to Santa Muerte, with altars, prayers, and rituals dedicated to Her. Gatherings:   Monthly Meetings: A mix of in-person and virtual gatherings to celebrate the cycles of the moon and sun, as well as to conduct spellwork and rituals.   Workshops and Classes: Covering a wide range of topics like herbology, divination, sigils, protection magic, and more.   Special Events: Seasonal festivals (Samhain, Beltane, etc.), retreats, and collaborative rituals. Coven Rules: 1. Sacred Knowledge:   All teachings, practices, and knowledge shared within the coven are considered sacred and confidential. This wisdom is not to be shared publicly or with non-coven members, as it is intended solely for the personal and spiritual growth of the coven members. Violating this confidentiality is grounds for expulsion. 2. Monthly Dues:   Members are required to pay coven dues on a monthly basis. These dues support the coven’s activities, gatherings, materials, and community growth. Failure to pay dues consistently may result in suspension from certain activities or eventual removal from the coven. 3. No Prejudice:   The coven embraces all paths, races, genders, and beliefs. Discrimination or prejudice of any kind will not be tolerated. Members must treat each other with respect and uphold an atmosphere of unity and inclusivity. 4. Participation in Rituals and Rites:   All members are expected to participate in coven rituals and rites, which are designed to be inclusive of all paths and beliefs. If a member cannot attend, they must notify the leadership in advance. Rituals will be conducted in a manner that allows participation without conflicting with individual beliefs. 5. Non-Coven Member Attendance:   Certain gatherings or events may be open to non-coven members on specific dates. These events will be clearly communicated in advance. Guests must adhere to the same rules of respect, confidentiality, and participation as full members during these open events. 6. Respect for Personal Practice:   While the coven encourages shared learning and group rituals, members are free to pursue their individual practices and beliefs outside the coven. However, coven gatherings must take priority, and individual practices should not conflict with coven rules during group events. 7. Conflicts and Disputes:   Any conflicts or disputes between members should be resolved through peaceful dialogue or with the assistance of coven leadership. Harmful or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. 8. Magical Ethics:   There are no restrictions on the types of spells or rituals performed by coven members. Love spells and curses are permitted. However, magic used on other coven members without their explicit permission is strictly forbidden. 9. Understanding of Magic:   Witches do not possess “powers.” Instead, we understand the divine order of the universe and how to interact with it to bring about the desired outcome. Members should respect this understanding when conducting spellwork and rituals. 10. Safety and Consent:   All rituals, spellwork, and practices must be conducted with full consent and understanding from each participant. No member is to be pressured into performing a ritual, spell, or practice that makes them uncomfortable. 11. Commitment to Learning:   Members are encouraged to continually learn and grow within their craft. Active participation in workshops, teachings, and mentorship programs is expected to foster both personal and group development. Initiation and Progression:   Initiation: New members may undergo a simple initiation ritual after a trial period, welcoming them into the coven.   Progression: Practitioners may choose to deepen their involvement through additional roles, such as mentor, council member, or ritual leader. Location:   In-Person and Virtual: While primarily based in Quebec, Tenebris Coven offers a hybrid approach with virtual meetings and rituals to accommodate members from various locations.
